800 silver, how worth it?

Found an old piece stamped "800 Silver" while digging through my grandfather's things, turns out it's German, maybe pre war or thereabout. Got me thinking…anyone here actively stack or invest in 800 silver, or is it more of a collector's game? I know it's not quite sterling, but it still has that real deal feel, how do you all see it in terms of value or future potential. Worth holding onto, or better to flip for .999?

Most folks stack .999 bullion for investment. If it's got history or craftsmanship, it might be worth holding onto but flipping for .999 could be the way to go if you're after pure silver weight

can I ask you something? For you, what's more important: the highest possible silver content for a purely financial investment, or the tangible history and feel of the piece itself? What's your gut telling you to do with it right now?
